Product Description
The 500 RL On-Line – Simple is a Smarter Decision
Pharmaceutical or biotechnology companies, looking to install an on-line total organic carbon analyzer are likely to use it for one of two things: Some will look to reduce laboratory sampling….but most will use the instrument as a diagnostic tool to control a high purity water system.
GE Analytical Instruments understands and knows how complex these projects can be. You want an instrument that not only includes robust technology – but one that is simple to implement.

A Sievers 500 RL Analyzer can be configured for your intended use!
The 500 RL On-line TOC Analyzer can be configured and upgraded with a few hardware and software options at any time.
Reference Standard Introduction Devices
Super iOS – The four vial port Super-iOS fully automates all validation protocols, including system suitability testing and calibration. Reference standards come in an innovative cartridge, which is easily inserted into the Super iOS. Pressing start on the display menu initiates a protocol, with no further user action required. Each vial set cartridge includes an embedded memory chip that transfers standards data, including type, concentration, lot number, and expiration date to the 500 RL Analyzer.
Standard iOS – The single-port standard iOS is designed to allow the instrument to easily switch between online and vial sampling with no re-plumbing required. The standard iOS can perform all system protocols, just like the Super iOS, only one vial at a time.
On-line Conductivity
The 500 RL Analyzer is not only the most robust and easy to implement TOC analyzer available, but it is also a fully compliant on-line conductivity instrument. Raw conductivity and temperature data are available to support global regulatory requirements. The instrument even includes built-in USP/EP/JP conductivity “look-up” charts for Stage 1 testing. The Analyzer constantly verifies compliance and can immediately notify an operator via alarm or Modbus TCP/IP outputs.
21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11 Compliance
DataGuard – With the optional DataGuard option, the 500 RL Analyzer includes a broad range of functions designed to simplify 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11 compliance (electronic records and signatures).
DataShare – This PC-based program allows you to export the 500 RL’s encrypted data output via a USB port for viewing, sharing, and creating reports. Data cannot be modified, ensuring data security consistent with 21 CFR Part 11 and Annex 11 requirements.

The Sievers 500 RL Analyzer is simply the most robust and easy to implement on-line TOC analyzer available.
TOC Analyzer Reliability – It simply measures TOC…nothing else!
The 500 RL TOC Analyzer combines an innovative design with the proven and trusted Sievers membrane TOC technology to ensure maximum uptime and reliability. While most on-line TOC technologies are limited to only ultra-low conductivity water, the 500 RL’s unique technology allows it to meaure TOC in water up to 25 uS/cm.

Conductivity Measurement
The 500 RL Analyzer is not only the most robust and easy to implement TOC analyzer available, but is also a fully compliant on-line conductivity instrument. Raw conductivity and temperature data are available to support global regulatory requirements. The instrument even includes built-in USP/EP/JP conductivity “look-up” charts for Stage 1 testing. The 500 RL constantly verifies compliance and can immediately notify an operator via alarm or Modbus TCP/IP outputs.
Easy to Use and Access Data
For several decades, the Sievers brand of TOC analyzers have been reliable and extremely easy to use. The 500 RL Analyzer is very user-friendly due to its automated calibration and suitability protocols. In addition, the 500 RL has a color touch-screen display that makes it easy to configure instrument parameters and view data in tabular or graphical form. The interface also provides real-time status of consumables, with prompts when semi-annual maintenance is due.
Low Maintenance and Operating Costs through Certified Plus
The 500 RL Analyzer does not use costly chemical consumables or catalysts and requires less than one hour per year of recommended preventive maintenance. The modular design makes consumables replacement fast and easy.
Do you prefer to have GE service your instruments? To help guarantee performance and ensure traceability for your Siever 500 RL TOC instrument, GE Analytical Instruments has developed the Certified Plus program. The Certified Plus suite of aftermarket products and services include traceable reference standards, quality parts, and highly trained technical support and field service personnel.
Innovative On-line Sampling System
The patented Sievers one-port Integrated On-Line Sampling System (iOS System)and innovative four-port Super iOS System fully automates all system protocols and can also analyze a quick grab sample for trouble shooting a specific port on your water system.
Traceability and simplicity go hand in hand when it comes to ensuring a quality measurement from an on-line TOC analyzer like the Sievers 500 RL. Reference standards are available to help you quickly and reliably perform the following regulatory tests:
USP/EP System Suitability | JP System Suitability |
Calibration | Linearity |
Robustness | Specificity |
