The Sievers InnovOx Laboratory Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer represents a true breakthrough in high TOC measurement technology and reliability. The InnovOx (short for innovative oxidation) can consecutively handle thousands of common—as well as difficult samples such as brine and cellulose—with unprecedented system uptime. The InnovOx offers unparalleled oxidation robustness, a dynamic linear working range of 0.5 to 50,000 ppm, and calibration curve stability for TOC analysis of industrial waste and environmental or process water samples.
Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO) Technique
GE Analytical Instruments’ patented Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO) technique enables the InnovOx to achieve its superior analytical performance and unsurpassed calibration stability. Using an oxidation process in a supercritical state has shown superior TOC recoveries across a broad range of organic compounds and particulate impurities. This new process removes sample and precipitated impurities between each analytical run, eliminating sample matrices contamination and providing reliable, long-term system performance.
Versatile Measurement Modes
With the InnovOx, analysts can routinely test for Total Carbon (TC), Total Inorganic Carbon (TIC), Total Organic Carbon (TOC), and Non-Purgeable Organic Carbon (NPOC). The InnovOx software provides versatile analysis options such as multiple runs on the same sample, auto calibration range selection, and integration with the GE Autosampler.
The Sievers InnovOx Laboratory Total Organic Carbon (TOC) Analyzer offers the following key features and benefits:
Unprecedented Uptime and Reliability
The Sievers InnovOx was designed to address two primary requests from the wastewater marketplace – improved reliability and uptime. Today, the InnovOx delivers on this promise. The Sievers InnovOx features an innovative Supercritical Water Oxidation (SCWO) technique which allows it to provide unprecedented uptime and superior reliability. The InnovOx has been demonstrated to run thousands of diverse sample matrices without any need for time-comsuming reactor cleaning or expensive catalyst replacement.
Sample Handling Robustness
With the SCWO technique, the Sievers InnovOx has advanced standard wet chemical oxidation to achieve unprecedented TOC recoveries regardless of organic compounds and particulate impurities in the sample. The Sievers InnovOx is tough. It can handle a wide variety of sample matrices, notably those with brine, cellulose and other challenging sample content.
Versatile Measurement Modes
The Sievers InnovOx TOC Analyzer offers various measurement modes, including:
- Total Carbon (TC)
- Total Inorganic Carbon (TC-IC)
- Total Non-Purgeable Organic Carbon (NPOC)
- Total Organic Carbon (TOC)
Extended Calibration Stability
The InnovOx offers up to six months’ calibration stability. Calibration is easily performed using intuitive on-screen prompts. Multi-point calibrations can be performed with a single standard using the Auto Dilution capability.
Ease of Operation
Like other Sievers TOC Analyzers, the Sievers InnovOx is very easy to use and features an intuitive touch-screen display. Conveniently, the InnovOx starts up immediately, since it does not require any prior warm-up or stabilization.
Low Maintenance and Cost of Ownership
Generally requiring just a few hours of preventive maintenance a year, the InnovOx is very easy and inexpensive to maintain.
Web-based Monitoring
The InnovOx enables users to remotely monitor and control InnovOx operations and results using a secure Web-based, Ethernet interface. Data can also be downloaded and transferred via a USB port.
Regulatory Methods Compliance
The InnovOx is compliant with ASTM, Standard Methods, ISO, and EPA regulations.
Air Filter – The Air Filter option offers an alternative to using inconvenient, bulky, external carrier gas cylinders. The Air Filter attaches easily to the back of the instrument. It contains a removable filter that is typically replaced every three months, depending on the number of samples run.
GE Autosampler – For high-volume laboratory applications, the InnovOx can be used with the GE Autosampler. The Autosampler provides high-throughput sample capacity (135 sample tubes and up to 63 40-mL or 60-mL vials in one protocol). The GE Autosampler is also available with optional stirring and wash station capabilities.
Dedicated Wash Station – The optional Wash Station flushes the sample inlet system and needle with a flowing water source, maximizing analytical performance of samples of varying concentrations.
Stirring Station – The patent-pending Stirring Station option uses a magnetic system to stir and mix the sample during the sampling process to create a homogeneous mixture for analysis. This innovative Stirring Station has no moving parts. The magnetic stir bars keep particles, that would otherwise settle in the bottom of the vial, suspended during the sampling process. The Stirring Station has a capacity of 63 40-mL vials. |
